QB/WR and WR vs RB and RB - Draft Strategy Verdict

In the off-season, there was a thread concerning two types of draft strategies:

1) Go with the typical RB-RB duo with you first two picks, regardless of draft position. (the safe route)

2) Go with either a QB or WR with your first two picks. (the road not traveled)

Since it is basically the middle of the season, I was interested in seeing how teams are doing that went with the QB/WR + WR strategy in comparison to the RB-RB teams.

Post your team. record, and who you selected with your first two picks (dont post your team if you went RB-WR or any other combination besides WR-WR QB-WR RB-RB) I'll try to compile the records and perhaps it could be useful for future draft strategies (at least it will be something to consider).

I went RB-RB (as 95% of drafters probably did)
1) Ronnie Brown 2) Warrick Dunn 3) Kevin Jones


I'm 5-3 going into week 9

i ended up rather unhappy with my draft position (at 11 in a 12 teamer) and didn't like the options of Lamont Jordan and maybe Edge? when it got to me. Ended up going Steve Smith and CJ in the 1st/2nd rounds.

I'm 3-5, but not sure if it was a good strategy or not. Ended up with Chester Taylor and Warrick Dunn, but neither Smith nor CJ has really held up their part of the deal (not like Jordan or Edge have either...)

I ended up with the first pick of the draft in a 14 team league. My picks were as follows:

1 Larry Johnson
27 Willie Parker
30 Warrick Dunn

I am now 7-1 in my league and first in points scored. The RB/RB draft strategy worked great for me.

SA and Westrbook in one league, 5-3 second place.

Steven Jackson and Chester Taylor in another and am 3-4-1.

But I think the second league I went SJAX, Steve Smith and then Chester Taylor, as Smith started a mini run on wrs

Really, if you do gather the data you'll have to break it down by draft position. Because I don't think that in my one league, choosing Tomlinson at 1.3 and then another RB at 2.10 was strategy. I had the third pick. SA and LJ were off the board. If I do anything but pick Tomlinson, I should have senior citizens throw little pickles at me.

And I'm doing fine in the league. But that's not me. That's Tomlinson.

Really, the most interesting would be only the people who picked between 8 and 12, what decisions did they make and how did they end up?
