It won't be Peyton. He has already been asked to be on the cover of Madden, but he apparentely wanted too much cash for EA's tastes.
I'm hoping that it's LT. Cause I'm getting sick of that guy putting up monster numbers year after year. I don't think I've ever had him on any of my fantasy teams. Most likely, I'll end up drafting LT next year and the curse hits hard.
I would have to think they go with a WR this year.
Here are 5 top WR prospects I would think need to be in the front running.
Chad Johnson:
He isn't quite putting up the numbers needed to be a Madden Coverboy for next year but he sure is keeping his face on the camera and pulling stunts. He is becoming one of the most well known players but again, might not have big enough numbers this year.
TO:
Many of the same reasons for Chad Johnson but he has bigger overall numbers and is just one step up from CJ at this moment I believe.
Torry Holt:
May be just a tad old and a St Louis player was featured in 2003. (M.Faulk) But I think if he keeps putting up those HUGE games he has got to be in consideration.
Reggie Wayne or Marvin Harrison:
Harrison really doesn't put himself in the spotlight and even some casual football fans don't really know him well. Wayne is younger and alittle flashier and maybe an option if he has a 1300+ yard season. (He's on pace for about 1200 right now I believe)
Steve Smith:
Had a monster year last year and if he can do big things in every game from here on he will have a shot. Missing a couple games early really hurt his chances in overall stats for this year but I believe he has the best chance to be the next Madden cover player.
Of course it could be defense and probably will but I'm hoping for a WR.
They'll put Robbie Gould on the cover. Then it'll be like when Ray Lewis was on 05, and they'll focus on special teams, the red-headed stepchild of Madden
Ive said it before, Ill say it again. Madden himself should be on the cover, because I really doubt us fantasy players will miss listening to him more than we'll miss losing an LT, SS or LJ to injury next season.
Thanks to eagles21 for the awesome sig
