Best you've done missing the live draft in H2H league?

Postby mattUTD20 » Mon Nov 06, 2006 7:34 pm

I'm 6-3 (tied for 2nd best record) in a 14 team league and barring a completely unfortunate turn of events in the next four weeks, I should make the playoffs (8 teams). This is better than I could have expected and don't realistically think I have a shot at the title but I'm still hopeful.

What's the best you've done in a H2H league where you missed the draft and what were your keys to victory (besides a little luck)? I'm not talking Yahoo gimp public leagues either, leagues with people you know are competent.

last year in a league with my friends, one of the owners missed the draft but ended up being 11-5 and reaching the playoffs. he lost in the first week but not bad for not actually drafting his team.

he had the colts defence, which was a big fantasy force last year, and he also was able to get boldin and sjax. but, he also made some good moves with the WW....being able to play the waivers is important if your drafted team has problems.

Thanks to deluxe_247 for sig, he is welcome to sail with the Captain too!

I will win all of the fantasy cafe games.....next year

Made it to the league semis last year in my first year (had to miss the draft because of prior committments). I had strong WRs, bad RBs... someone desperately wanted M Harrison and gave me Barber and someone else (Taylor, I think), and I was rolling, even with Culpepper.

Last year in a competitive cafe league I finished in first place and lost in the finals after having an auto-draft done for me. I had set up my rankings beforehand, of course, but it was hard to lose with SA, Action Jackson, and Torry Holt working for me ;-D

In an 18-person semicompetitive yahoo league I autodrafted and I'm 6-2 with about a 45% chance (yes, I care that much :P) of winning tonight.
The secret of my success?
Seneca Wallace, Colston, Marion Barber, Travis Henry, and Reggie Williams all off of the WW :-D

I'm 7-2 with an autodrafted team in our FFC vs. FBC. The team is a complete joke (outside of Manning and lucky Wesybrook) and has been lucky al year. Each week its either Coples, Rod Smith or Ward putting up surprising monster numbers. Leon Washington pick up was nice, McAllister also went off and I thought he would be trash.
