The kid's temp got up to 105 at one point yesterday. He's got strep throat now.

I tried to talk him into the cold tub, but he wouldn't go for it. He called me at work today and says, Guess what? What? I got a shot in my butt! That was funny. And he's feels good now. I stepped inside coming home from work and he about tackled me.

I remember us forcing my daughter (about two years old at the time) into a tub of icy water to reduce a high fever. She WAS NOT happy! Then, we found out later that children's over-the-counter cold and flu meds take a fever down pretty well. Our poor children... dealing with parents and on-the-job-training.

This sucks.

A few weeks ago I had one of the worst colds I've ever had. Lasted two weeks and pretty much just got over it because I fortunately had a break from school and was able to go home and relax. Just after I thought I was getting better, I got coughed on, and goto this sinking feeling that I was going to get sick again. Sure enough, I got another cold. Not as bad as the first, but definitely worse timing. Now, I thought I was getting better, and I think I may be relapsing or something, because I woke up this morning with a sore throat. Not sure if it's a relapse or another cold, but either way, I can't even begin to describe to you how upset I am about this. Being sick really sucks, and now I'm at the point where I'll wind up having been sick for a full month straight.

You kids... wait until you have kids of your own. Snot, sneezes, coughs everything thrown at you. It's like dodging bullets. I can count on one hand how many times I have had the flu in my life. My kid started JK in September, 2 colds and 2 bouts of the flu in 6 weeks for him and me.
