Nice car. ;-D

We were looking at those, but the company wouldn't spring for one. Got an Xterra instead, which I like, but I wish I could have had more to choose from.

Xterras are pretty sweet, hopefully when I get back to Eugene we can trade the old ladys little car in on a small SUV like that. ;-D

My wife has an Altima that we've been impressed with. Normally I'm an American car guy (Chevy ;-D ), but we were so impressed by her '97 Altima that we decided to go with Nissan again.

I still got the Chevy pickup and the Charger on blocks, so I'm still a good American right? ;-) B-)

The way I see it is if American companies want me to buy an American car, they need to start manufacturing a superior product. I have a 2000 Honda Accord and a 2007 Honda Pilot EXL and the American equivalent of these two vehicles isn't even close in quality, looks or resale value.

Not only that, but a lot of Hondas are actually built in the United States by Americans. There is a Honda plant in Alabama and two in Ohio. On the other hand, did you know that one of the largest GM plants in the world is in Mexico and that they hire people for a fraction of what Americans make? Or that GM is Mexico's single largest private employer?

The point is if you're going to buy an "American" car based on principal, you may want to make sure it's actually made in America by Americans. Otherwise, what's the point?

It's a '69. It's in pretty bad shape right now, though the body really isn't that bad. I'm hoping to restore it with the kid so he can drive it when he gets older. I don't know much about cars so it'll be a learning experience for both of us. My wife and I had to make a compromise. She was spoiled as a kid and was given everything, including her car. I had to work my ass off for everything. I wanted him to get the car the way I did, so he'd appreciate it more, while she wanted to just outright buy it for him. We compromised in that, we'll pay for all the parts and labor, but he'll help restore it. Hopefully it'll help him appreciate it when it gets running. Whenever that is..... :-°

Thats awsome, pre 70s Chargers kick ass. ;-D

Do you have any idea what a fully restored 69 Charger will be worth by the time hes able to drive it?8-o

I dont know either but I bet alot!! 8-o :-b

To respond to joses post, I bought the new Impala because I liked the car itself, It wasnt really that I was trying to buy American. I looked at alot of cars including many imports but I was just drawn to the Impala, so thats the way I went. Now my 67 is American through and through, when that four barrel opens up it purrs U.S.A. ;-D

Yeah, I have a bit of an idea from pricing some of the ones that actually run. By that time we might get him an old clunker to drive around during the week, when it rains, in the snow, etc. A lot of this depends on how much he appreciates it once it's done. If all he wants to do is burnouts, I'll keep the car. :-D
