More commissioner problems, please assist....

Argh, I am a first year commissioner and am hoping you folks can assist me in my work league.

The last time it was an attemp to collude, this time the same player has put all of his players on the bench. Giving a free win to his opponent this weekend.

Not sure what his game is or what he is thinking (will try to call him later today to find out).

I know he has been unhappy with his team and am wondering if he has given up all together and was going to bench his team for the rest of the season. (again, will find out more today)(btw-he is not 0-5, but has a 2-3 record and very decent players)

I don't believe it is fair that if he does not want to play anymore, that he does not start his team. For there have been 2 others that have already taken fair loses and others will always get a "W" from here on out.

My thoughts (pending what he says) is to start his players and suspend him from making changes if he is not willing to play the game. Or wait to see if he does start a line up Sunday morning and if he doesn't by noon time ET then go ahead with the above plan to activate and suspend.

Any advice, anyone, please. Thanks.

(I will post more later when/if I find out from him what his intentions are)

Its wrong, plain and simple. He may be delaying selecting his starting line up, some poeple do that. If he doenst plan to pick anyone, then he needs to be told by everyone else that its not acceptable.

You can always take over his team and make the selections each week.

i would really hate to have that mess in my league.....i suggest you try and contact him first, and then you may have to take over roster duties for him....at least you can get his starters in and let things play out that way.

Is this a yahoo league? If so you can contact them and they handle problems like this. I don't know what they will do but I know there is an email to contact them just for this reason.

That is very cheap. I would take over his team if he doesn't comply. Better yet, if you can find another guy to take over the team, that way you don't have to make the transaction and stuff like that.

I'd certainly find out what he is doing and then take appropriate steps to fix it. If he's just waiting to select his lineup, no problem. If he's just going to do this for one game, I'd put in a starting lineup and lock him out. Same goes if he's decided to quit, unless you can find another owner to take over the team.

It's a mess, no matter how it goes. :-/

I hate p***ks like that.

If he doesnt want to play anymore then fine but why ruin it for everyone else and change the line up.

Wait until 20 mins before your deadline and then act. Its not like he has an excuse for missing the deadline because he has already took all his players out anyway.

People can be so selfish

i had to deal with this one year... basically i brought it up to the league, discussed it and came up with this:

- i would field a team from his existing team each week, so everyone at least had to compete against something.

- other than that, no other moves were to be made. no WW pickups, no trades, just field a full team as best i could out of the best available players, only making adjustments if someone had a bye.

everyone still ended up beating the team, but it seemed more fair.

Hey y'all,

Thanks for the replies.

I finally spoke to him today and he reassured me that he was setting his line up last minute. He said he got burned by the game time injury reports to much and he wanted to be more secret about his line up.

I really hope that is what he's doing. I will check again just before the beginning of the games tomorrow to be sure.

I guess I sort of freaked out because this is out of caracter for him to bench his players. Especially that he is also the one that talked collusion with another worker before. That left me a bit paranoid about him.

Will update you if anything further arises tomorrow.

Thanks again.
