Owners who don't pay by deadlines!!! Suggestions!?

Postby Bronckings » Wed Nov 22, 2006 1:39 pm

I have four owners who actively manage a team in my league, but have not paid the league fee of $20. Twenty stinkin' dollars. Each year it's the same guys and I'm really tired of it. Some don't pay until a few weeks AFTER the regular season and playoffs have finished making things difficult for paying winners. To make it tough, they include a 1st, 2nd, and 7th place team (8 make playoffs out of 12), but the fourth player is in 11th place. Basically, I can't just take the team away or not reward them because they suck anyway. What suggestions does anyone have???

We have a standing rule that you have to be paid up to date as of week 10.

If you are not , you get a 0 pt total and a loss.

It has worked well over the years because almost everyone is still in the playoff chase.

What if their team is brutal enough...

...where you/they know they won't make the playoffs, or at least get top three finish.

That team is basically getting to play, and in turn, affect the league outcome with their team and then have a cop-out to throw the team away if they're in bad shape.

Just let them know that you WILL lock their teams from going to the playoffs til it is paid.. I mean it's only 20 friggin' bucks, and it's not fair to those that did pay already and those that win and might have to wait for the others to pay.

Luckily for us, everyone in our league is local and we have a draft at someone's house. If you don't bring your entry fee, you don't get to play/draft.. Plain and simple.

Good luck

Get the league fees before they draft. It's that simple.

These idiots are long-time fantasy league players with me (that aren't paying) and they're all out of state so I can't shake 'em down in person. It isn't very realistic to get 12 chumps together online and expect to have the fee due prior to the draft. Our league would basically not function anymore. I can take the money out next year, which would be disappointing, but I need a fix for this year.
One of the four is a long shot to make the playoffs so he could care less if I threaten him with a lockout.

I like to see how I'm doing first before I pay.

Also, what stops the commish from blowing all of the money at the craps table before the end of the season?

How are they paying (if they pay) anyways? If they are out of town I mean. Paypal? check or M.O.?

Just get a hold of them and let them know your situation. I say just LOCK THEIR TEAM! No questions asked. F that for putting you in that situation in the first place. If they say it's unfair, tell them it's unfair they haven't paid you yet.
