I am not arguing whether or not the man deserved to be suspended, but why now?

Reasoning I read behind the 1 game suspension this week is because NE is an AFC team and not really important in the big scheme of things.

If he did it, and I think he did (which is immaterial) the NFL still does things based on precedent. Like the head-stomp earlier this year... IMO that warrants being kicked out of football, at least for the season. I'd be curious to see how other similar situations have been handled by the league. Certainly NFL players have done worse. It's not really the NFL's duty to handle these situations anyway... it's way beyond that scope.

I still don't agree. Chris Henry of the Bengals was only suspended 2 games and he was arrested 3-4 times for various stupidity (i.e. marijuana, boozing with 15 year old girls, having a pistol outside of a nightclub). I see all of those violations as so much worse than mannings. Yet Henry only received 1 game more than Manning. Doesn't make sense to me

u say why now? because they are an ethical franchise- it would be dispicable to waive the suspension until they had an easy game.
