Judging from Fred Taylor's recent issues with the team over his incentive-laden contract, I think our franchise has come to a crossroads with the best RB in our history. Conciding nicely with this impasse is the excellent play of rookie dynamo Maurice Jones-Drew, who has gone from campus bully to goal-line bully more smoothly than many fans could've hoped. Here's the thing: can we trust MJD enough with the RB job to tighten our salary-cap belt a little by letting Taylor go? Or do we even have to make that decision just yet?
I know I'll be watching Drew real closely the rest of this season--and how Del Rio uses him. It'd suck to see Fred go, but his departure (if we can take that hit) could make room for free-agent acquisitions.
