As I was flying home today and AA was going through their little safety schpeal, I was wondering if any airplane has ever had those little oxygen masks pop down from above in a situation where the plane has not crashed. In addition, has anyone ever been saved because they had a flotating seat when their plane had to do an emergency water landing?

I would rather they just stock Vicodin parachutes for every passenger.

Can't say that I have, but I tell you what, there have been many where I thought I was going to crash in some of these very safe military helos.
