Umm...who is? Not Brady. Tampa Bay has faced what, 8 different QBs this year, and none have put up 5 TDs. Just because they're bad doesn't diminish Romo's performance.
But I agree...some people are getting more air-headed than Jessica Simpson. Let's see how well he does when the going gets tough.
How can you not be on the Romo bandwagon? He's 4-1 as a starter and leads the league in passer rating with 110+. He's doing everything on the field you could ask him to. Winning games, making plays, not turning the ball over. As a Cowboys fan, I'm giddy.
For fantasy purposes...he's had 4 great games out of 5.
And the schedule looks gravy from here on out. Only two games against opponents with winning records.
Week 13 @ NY Giants (6-4)... 20th in Passing Yards Allowed, 20th in Passing Touchdowns Allowed
Week 14 New Orleans (6-4)...12th PYA, 31st PTDs
Week 15 @ Atlanta (5-5)... 29th PYA, 12th PTDs
Week 16 Philadelphia (5-5)...4th PYA, 5th PTDs
Week 17 Detroit (2-9)... 21th PYA, 29 PTDs
Philly is the only tough game left from a statisical standpoint.
After only 5 games, he's already passed up Eli Manning in one of my fantasy leagues. Closing in on Favre. (Currently ranked 10th)
He's just a point below Eli in my other league and in 11th.
I'm not the biggest Tom Brady fan either, but the comparisons are too soon to tell. As a Tony Romo owner in the first league, I hope it continues, but as a Cowboy hater for life, I hope he gets put in his place. (Don't you hate when FF gets in the way of your biases?)
It's too early to compare Romo to anybody, he's only played in a few games. However, it is important to note several accomplishments.
4-1 starting record
beat the undefeated colts
highest QB rating in league
Do those stats mean that he's better than Brady? Of course not. I think he is better than Brady, but that's because I think Brady is a bed-wetting mama's boy.
There is one stat that I think is incredible, which is:
"Over the last three games, Romo is 29-of-31 for 409 yards and three touchdowns in the second half."
During half time, you would expect the DEF to make adjustments to shut down Romo, but he comes out and performs better in the second half, than the first half. It would be interesting to see if the two incompletions are bad throws, throw aways, or dropped passes.
