All absolutes have their exceptions. No QB until 6, all RB until 3, WR-WR only, whatever.... all strategies are sub-optimum unless you're also looking and applying what is happening in your draft as it happens.

And yes, people that have played fantasy for more than one season have picked a QB in the first round. Sometimes with great success. Or I suppose you believe that picking Lamont Jordan, Ronnie Brown, or Edge in the first round this year was a punched ticket to the championship?

In any case, this thread is about Alexander and Steven Jackson. If you want to debate the merits of Peyton, you can add to these threads (among others, I'm sure; I just did a quick search).

Until the Rams stop giving up on the runs so easily, SJ will never be in that category. Behing LJ and LT there is a group of really good RB's (Parker, Westbrook, Gore, Jackson) all of which are fairly young. Parker is up and down, Westbrook has injury problems but he is great when healthy, Gore has a history of injuries as well and does not score enought TD's but he is a yardage monster, and Jackson has a poor line and is on a team that tends to give up on the run. I think when they are all healthy Westbrook is the best of the bunch. As far as SA goes, that is yet to be determined. He has been injuired and has not looked good yet this year but we will see.

If Dillon is not in NE next year making Maroney the clear #1 back there, I think I might put him a step ahead of Jackson next year. Brandon Jacobs without Tiki could be huge as well.
