I am in a position where I am forced to start Vick from here on out, thanks to McNabb going down. And on Sunday, I watched him for only the second time this year. I am convinced Atlanta's offensive problems are not all his fault. He has no offensive line. His receivers regularly drop passes, and outside of Crumpler...they never get open. His coach has no idea how to use his 'freakish' talent, and he constantly has to take the abuse from the media and fans. In any other system, with any other team....Vick would be the ultimate weapon. I know that doesn't help anyone, but I needed to VENT!!! I'm still going to play him, because the upside is so great. He can put up monster numbers against anyone. I just hope it can be this year.
I've never been high on Vick. I've been saying for years that he would be better off gaining 20pounds of muscle and becoming a running back. He is probably the best all around athlete in the league, but obviously being a good qb, takes more than being a fast runner.
I believe he got 19 fantasy points this past week. So even though hes unconventional he still puts up points.
I dont know what coach could harness the talent Vick has and be successful. He is such a freak of nature that there isnt an offense in the NFL that he fits into. You would have to start from scratch and build an entire offense around Vick.
Atl needs to run the offense that Virgina Tech ran in college. Vick, Suggs and Jones just ran over everyone. I think Atl could just run Vick, Dunn and Norwood and do some damage. Look at what the Titans are doing. Young, Henry, Brown and White.
Plus, Vick wins games! I think he has the highest winning percentage per start or something like that.

I was watching ESPN earlier and i heard an interesting statistic....the falcons have $25 million worth in defensive players that are out with injuries right now....if the defence wasn't giving up points so easily i'm sure the falcons would at least be .500 right?
Thanks to deluxe_247 for sig, he is welcome to sail with the Captain too! I will win all of the fantasy cafe games.....next year
I think Vick in the right situation with a decent supporting cast could be very very good, but then again lots of QB's put in the right situation with a decent supporting cast could succeed also. Vick has amazing talent and is exciting to watch play, but he is just an ordinary QB in his current situation in Atlanta. Give him a WR that can get open and catch, shore up the O-Line and if that defense is healthy, I think Atlanta would have something very special.
It made me ill to watch him Sunday vs the Saints. Don't get me wrong, I loved the rushing yards. Between the WR's dropping passes and the lack of protection, I'm not sure what was worse? Crumpler was about 2 salads away from getting into the endzone on a pass play which would have been nice. I will continue to start Vick, so much upside if his line blocks and his WR's can catch.

Actually ATL had Abraham and Hartwell back this past game, but it was very hard to watch the highlights of the game on ESPN and NFL Network because the recievers were playing like crap in addition to the retarded offensive linemen. On every single play they showed even if it was a positive play from Vick, the pocket collapsed completely making it very hard for him to both run and pass. If you put Peyton Manning or Tom Brady in there, they would pretty much die because they don't have the physical endurance and agility (quickness) Mike Vick has.
The Falcons needs to start over with their recievers (except Crumpler) and their linemen. I admit that it's really hard for the offensive line has a hard time blocking for a "running" QB like Vick, but many can do it! Look at Elway!

Why, so he can have higher paid, higher profile receivers drop passes instead? I am an Atlanta fan, and yes, it has been hard to watch him this year!
Even Randy Moss would of had problems pulling off that awesome drop by Roddy White with a straight face. It takes a pretty big pair of brass ones to make a highlight drop like that one.
