Ethical Question...Is this right or wrong?

My brother, our commish is locked into 1st place with a first round bye. After crunching some numbers, it looks like he will have a tough matchup in the 2nd round. If he puts in a weaker lineup and loses, he has a potentially better matchup come the 2nd round and that leaves me facing two stronger teams in the 2nd round as I may get the 2nd place bye. Is it wrong for him to start a lesser lineup, or am I just pissed becuase I may play better teams? Any help would be great!

Nothing wrong with strategy. He is tanking so that he can have a better chance of winning it all. Nothing wrong with that.

If you win the league because of this and have a shot at LT next year at the number 1 draft spot then you have to do everything you can. NO player in football is more dominate....In my league first place gets first pick the prior year and I know who I'd like to have.

That's just bad. Last place teams are out of it every year once they lose

As for the original post, why don't you just throw the game too? Not sure if I understand you situation fully so I don't have a great picture of what the standings look like (kinda skimmed the post).

Hey, if the colts can do it, why not him? I got no problem with that strategy. As long as something is a strategy it's fine in my book. That strategy has two chances to backfire... and two chances it turns out like he plans:

1) He tries to tank the game, but accidentally wins then loses to the "tougher matchup"
2) He tanks the game, but loses the "easier matchup" when he would have won the other one.
3) He tries to tank the game, but accidentally wins then he wins what he thinks is the "tougher matchup"
4) He tanks the game, and wins the "easier matchup"
