What was Al Davis thinking hiring this coaching staff?

I would've overpaid some hotshot young college coach. Hiring old-timers like Shell was a mistake. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. I'd just get a younger dog.

well al did try that with a couple college guys one being petrino but none would bite on the job. pretty much the only guy that wanted the job was shell and he was far far from being davis' first choice.

I didn't think it was possible the Raiders could get worse on offense, but they just keep pulling out all the tricks.

Just wait Raider fans...you will throw your TV through the wall when you see the genius call a fake handoff to the left, then proceed to get the D flowing towards the left, only to call a WR screen.....yup....you guessed it....to the left. :-/
