McNabb Owners: Week 14 Waiver Wire QB Matchups, Which player

Postby Hanz » Mon Dec 04, 2006 10:16 pm

I know some of these guys might not be available in your league, but they seem to be the average QB's on the waiver wire. Many McNabb owners are being forced to play the matchups every week for the rest of the season, what are you doing Week 14?

Losman vs. Jets
Young vs. Texans
Pennington vs. Bills
Harrington vs. Patriots
Alex Smith vs. Packers
Leinart vs. Seahawks
Gradkowski vs. Falcons
Campbell vs. Eagles
Garcia vs. Redskins
Brooks vs. Bengals
Garrard vs. Colts
Frye vs. Steelers
Cutler vs. Chargers

I think Pennington should have the nicest game this week, and Leinart should also be a solid play.

I went with Garcia this week and so far so good. I'll likely stick with him next week as well.

I like VY against the Texans for two reasons:

a) the kid's a winner. He's learning to put it together in the NFL and his confidence is high.

b) the kid's a winner. He's from Houston, and he'll be playing in front of a bunch of friendly faces. He will rise to the occasion and play VERY well. The crowd will cheer more for him than Carr.

Ive stuck with Garcia so far, and he hasnt let me down yet. Especially after last nights game when they opened up the play book and Garcia actually aired out some passes. He racked up 17 points for me two weeks ago, and 30 points yesterday. Pretty good for a guy who alot of people said would be absolutely terrible. Obviously he will never be a McNabb, but with the aerial offense if Philly, I think he has a chance to put up more points every week then any of those other QB's listed.

I was going with Grossman, but after this weekend, Grossman is now on waivers. I picked up Garcia as well. I will choose between Garcia and Campbell the rest of the way. I think I will go with Garcia this coming weekend.

An inconsistent QB against the #3 pass defense?

I think these are much better plays this week:
(in no particular order)

Pennington vs BUF

Buffalo has the 4th fewest INT of any team, allows nearly 2 TDs to every INT and Pennington has been hot

Garcia at WAS

24th ranked pass defense....23 TDs allowed to only 5 INTs.

Young at HOU

27th ranked pass defense. Young has been playing pretty well and Houston has given up 17 TDs in 12 games.

Leinart vs SEA

Powerful offense, mediocre Seattle pass defense. Could end up being a shootout.
