When your offense plays against your defense?

Postby futbol78 » Mon Dec 04, 2006 10:43 pm

I have Torry Holt going against the Chicago defense. What is the general consensus when it comes to starting offensive players against your own defense? To me it seems counterintuitive. For this reason I'm thinking of benching Holt. However, Torry Holt is a fantasy stud and if I lost this weekend (1st round of playoffs) because I benched him, I would be pissed. Looking for advice from those more experienced. Thanks in advance.

just start him and take waht points you can. what if he gets 3 tds on your bench? that would make you look dumb.

and nathan vasher is injured, so holt could actually do quite good next week.

I don't understand how your benching of Holt will have any impact on the real game? I dont think if you put Holt on your fantasy bench it's going to make the real life Bears perform any better. Anyway, the real FF Def points seldom come from shutouts but from sacks, tos, and tds.

Thanks for the help. I don't think it would help the Bears, although that would be pretty sweet. In that case I would make sure Grossman is benched every week as well. I guess my point is that I get 6 points for the receiving TD and then I lose 4-6 points on the defensive side of things. All in all I agree, you get your defensive points from turnovers. Thanks.
