I've pretty much resolved to make one of these signs, as they're as wonderfully useful as giant checks (which, by the way, I have one of . It didn't come with any money, though.)
Does anybody have any ideas as to how I could make one of these? It looks like they have a black styrofoam/wood? block glued to a posterboard.
Would any veterans of D-Fence sign making care to share the tricks of the trade?
Thanks
LOL... that Man Law commercial was pretty funny with the best line coming from Jimmy Johnson.
"Buh Lock"
"Duh Umb"
Anyways, just go to your local art store or hardware store and look for thick cardboard. There's a name for that type of material, but I've no clue what it's called. Regular old posterboard won't work so well, because it's flimsy and liable to fall apart if it gets wet or something. Styrofoam will slowly disintegrate and can easily snap. But I guess you can glue a bunch of regular posterboard together, to make it stiff and thick. (All you guys with dirty minds, try to ignore that, yea? LOL).
For the sake of your fellow fans just don't make one. It's utter hell sitting behind anyone with those, especially when they are under the illusion that it is far more important for them to be seen on tv with their huge sign then for 30 others to watch the game instead of see a fat white posterboard.
Yeah I think I might get into a scuffle if some dood was holding up a sign that big in front of me the entire game. But as long as you're respectful and dont hold it up during plays I dont think its that big of a deal.

Yeah, but still. NFL tickets are really expensive. I would want to be able to see the field even when there's not a play going on. I think the signs are clever and kind of funny too, but what it basically boils down to is the people holding up the signs have determined that getting on TV is more important than the people behind them having an unobstructed view. Pretty selfish, IMO.
