What's funny is I hate that top 40 BS, but my wife watches the VH1 video countdown Saturday morning and both of his first singles off of his latest album are decent compared to most of the other crap they play. They both have of a techno/trance feel that I kind of dig.
call me sober wasn't that bad, she has a beautiful voice, but it was entirely overplayed, but how dare they put "Hate Me" by Blue October on there, what an awesome and amazingly deep song!
Shake That is a real fun song, I like that one a lot. But even a rap junkie like me, I cant stand Its Goin' Down. It is just really boring. And I agree with most all the other being up there.
I feel real proud that I've never heard any of these songs. I may have listened to about 3 seconds of Fergie's song flipping through radio stations in my car though.
Anyways, the overall state of music is really crappy right now IMO. I won't even watch a bit of the music awards show now, since 90% of the music acts are composed of these annoying pop acts. My only exposure to current music is via the radio, and only the alternative rock station here in Chicago, Q101. No MTV for me, although I used to watch VH1.
Something amusing about Paris Hilton though, I read a news blog about how she was supposed to be the follow up act for Jay-Z at some concert, but she was supposedly pounding down the vodka heavily before her turn that all she did was go up on stage and puke. So I guess the crowd was saved from her lip-synching.
Anyways, someone please shoot Paris.
