If so, then the first one is absolutely astonishing. The one where the man hasn't slept in over 11,700 days. If this story is indeed true, then it would be my belief that he probably goes into 10-15 second periods of very light sleep during the day, without knowing it.
I would think that these periods would be necessary to keep him alive, since without having any form of sleep for such a long period of time, he would surely die of sleep deprivation.

Yea, I'm not sure, but I think the human body needs to sleep to survive. That just doesn't seem possible he could do that.
Yes, that one made me laugh. It is bad enough when a soldier runs and hides from a battle during war, but to hide for 28 years reaches an unbelievable level of cowardice. Luckily for him the U.S. rebuilt Japan's government, otherwise he might have some "splainin" to do.
You have to wonder why he would stay there for so long. I would probably at least go out and check to see if the battle had ceased within the first year or so.
