If so, then the first one is absolutely astonishing. The one where the man hasn't slept in over 11,700 days. If this story is indeed true, then it would be my belief that he probably goes into 10-15 second periods of very light sleep during the day, without knowing it.
I would think that these periods would be necessary to keep him alive, since without having any form of sleep for such a long period of time, he would surely die of sleep deprivation.
I'm pretty sure this is the same guy I saw on Letterman a few years ago. Basically Dave asked him some basic questions and his story fell apart. The guy on the show admitted he DOES sleep, he just doesn't sleep for 8 hours in a row - more like 45-60 minutes at a time several times a day.
So if this is the same guy (and I can't believe there'd be too many people like him out there), it's pretty much bogus.
