Tim Couch (Cleveland fans please drop in)

Postby Plindsey88 » Wed Oct 15, 2003 12:51 pm

OK fellas, I was looking over some numbers today and did a little analysis of the Cleveland v. San Diego match up this week:

QB production against San Diego thus far

T. Green (wk 1) - 282 yards, 1 TD

Plummer/Beuerlein (wk 2) - 200 combined yards, 3 TD's (Plummer and Portis went out in the first half)

Boller (wk 3) - 100 yards, 1 TD (but that is typical of the rookie w/ Lewis getting all the touches)

Gannon (wk 4) - 348 yards, 3 TD's

Leftwich (wk 5) - 336 yards, 2 TD's

Couch (wk 6) - ????

Now, Tim Couch is fighting to keep his job, and William Green is coming around, which should help open up the offense...

I say Couch has a huge day if he gets the start and remains the QB for the whole game...

Cleveland fans - what's the word on the street regarding Couch?

What do y'all think? Would he be a good 1 week starter this week?

he better be cuz I just picked him up due to injuries and a bye week and he is my starter for this simple reason.,,,,,,,I'll dump him after this week just like the Browns fans will.

Any other thoughts?

I ask b/c Plummer is out again this week and I'm not sure if I'd rather go Ramsey v. Buffalo or Couch v. San Diego....

no change azs far as ive heard, couch is going and i think by the numbers he will have a productive game. that and if the defense keeps a shut down game the offense should be fine, KJ will be a good look for this game

Yeah, I would think that Couch would have a good game. He isn't that bad of a QB and he does have good WRs to throw to.

You might want to consider the fact that two OLmen are injured for this coming game. (Faine and O'Hara)

The Chargers secondary has played suprisingly well, but they had a combined *3* starts (or something to that effect) before this season. They are not deep enough to cover all of the Browns receiving threats. SD has Tomlinson and Boston, both of whom have the capacity to be monsters, yet still haven't posted a win. There's a reason for that- they're getting rung up.

I think he is a good start vs the crap Chargers D. Couch is a good QB, and should stay as the starter.

I am curious about this as well since my QB's are:

Ramsey @ Buf
Couch @ SD
Green @ Oak

So, are you guys saying Couch would be the best start?

I know this thread is more suited to the "Start or Sit" forum but since it is already here I figured it was OK to ask.

Thanks
That's my two cents and it's worth every penny of it!
