Will Portis numbers suffer?

With Plummer being out for 4 week, will Portis fantasy numbers suffer?
How good is the backup QB?
Denver plays three tough defense...Minnesota, Baltimore and New England before they go for their bye week.

What are your predictions for Portis numbers in the next three weeks?

well it defintely allows defences to focus more on portis. on the other hand it forces shannahan to force the ball to portis more often. i think it'll balance itself out and his numbers really wont go up or down.

Alot of people don't know this, but Beurlein is a very capable back up. This week will be a tough game with or without Plummer, but I don't see them losing games soley b/c of this injury. Steve will do enough just to keep the D honest for Portis to run successfully. Portis is one of the most consistent fantasy backs, so I wouldn't worry.

I at forst said Burline (don't care how it is spelled) stinks, but after the impressive performance he put on last Sunday leading the Broncs to a win, I think Portis will do fine. I am really hoping he does since i have him.

S. Beuerlein didn't have much of an impressive performance 17/28 172yds 2TDs 2INTs. Defense won it for them

And to answer to if Portis' numbers will suffer w/o Plummer. So far they have, first week w/o Plummer, Portis had 47 rushing yards and 26 recieving yards and NO TDs! But I believe his stats will improve in the following weeks.

Haha.. Beurlein stinks?.. He's been in the league consistently backup/starter for 15 years.

I think if teams start to stack the line, Beurlein has the capabilities of taken em deep. He was an excellent backup QB in Carolina...yes CAROLINA, the team wandering in the fields of mediocre offense for the past 5 seasons. (Thank goodness we have Stephen Davis) Portis is a great back - his ypc may decrease slightly if teams stack the line, but all in all he should do just as fine b/c Beurlein is a strong backup. He's not a Doug Johnson or anything...

Buerlein is going to do a credible job, I think (hope)...at least good enough to create some running room for Portis. I think Portis is going to see more carries, yards and scoring opps. Denver has a lot of strengths....plugging in Buerlein isn't gonna make that much difference.
