This is why I hate the NFL rules (and this is coming from someone who HATES the Patriots) about this kind of stuff.
If Drew WAS touched by a NE player there and got up and started running, and one of those NE players lit him up it would've been a 15 yard penalty. Because of that, you could see the guys haph-hazardly grabbing MJD just to hold him still "just in case" rather than tackling him "just in case" to avoid the penalty.
Earlier this year a DE was called for a late hit for tackling a QB who was faking a bootleg after he handed the ball off. And then of course there was the Kiwanuka/Young play as well. If a guy is running like the play is still live or like he has the ball he should be fair game no matter how many whistles are blowing.
We saw these awful rules cost the Giants a game against Tennessee, and we're seeing it again here.
