As usual, I woke up, dressec and took the dog out for our morning jog. As we got to the end of the driveway, I noticed there was something laying on top of my newspaper. It was a dead cat! What made this really strange was that the dead cat had the newspaper in its paws, like it was clutching it right before its demise. This has me perplexed beyond belief right now. Why would this cat be holding my newspaper?
I did something crazy this morning...got into a fist fight with my best friend. I whooped him but felt bad about it immediately afterwards. Oh the powers of alcohol!
Was it cold? Had you seen the cat before, i.e. do you know who the owner is.
If not, wrap the kitty in the newspaper and make a funeral pyre to stafe off the black cat curse.
actually you should take it to or call animal control to make sure it's not diseased.

to make sure it's not deceased, he just said it was dead, didn't he?
