I voted to keep it as it is.
As long as people do it, of course. My last 2,000 posts have gone without notice (I did get a cafeholic icon, though, so it's nice to get some recognition )

But if somebody like Mad, who does a TON for the cafe, but doesn't get to post much, they deserve one every 1k IMO. But whatever, I've only been here for 5 months or so...
I don't know if you're knocking Blitz or not, but apparently he does yoeman's work in the Start/Sit threads. That's why he's on the Response Team. I don't know enough about him to defend him entirely, but from what I understand he's not just spamming.
I don't think that was a knock at Blitz...I think he was just commenting that his post count rises more rapidly than other's. Either way, I say just leave it as it is, it really isn't a problem.

I'll trade ya my last two congrats threads and a thread to be named later for the mug.

I totally agree. For the most part, the icons are more accurate in showing who is a regular, consisten, helpful member at the cafe.
What , exactly, are we congratulating these folks on? Why is it an achievement to post a thousand times, or five thousand, or a million even? People worry too much about post counts and icons, and it really detracts from the original purpose of this site, which was to have a friendly community of people (which we do have) that just want to talk football, be it straight talk or fantasy and help each other. You shouldn't need any more reward than getting a "thank you" from someone who read your advice, or a spirited conversation with others. I put out a blanket congratulatory statement sometime back as I simply didn't want to keep up with the amount of threads being started about so-called milestones. JMO, but hey, that's the beauty of the Cafe!

awwww, come on smileys are fun.
Art's a big killjoy over on the baseball side too.
