I want to pick up Ricky Williams (since he's been reinstated) and drop Adimchinobe Echemandu.

Who should I take as a place-filler until they add Ricky to the database?

We've got ourselves a little dilemna here. No1cowboysfan claimed Ricky on the forum, but then he was added to waivers on yahoo a few days later, and MMoNey24 placed claimed him.

Either way, someone is going to be mad at me in this situation, but I'm going to make this ruling based on precedent. Last year, Swiper claimed Mike Bell, who wasn't in the yahoo database, by sending me a PM. Unfortunately, he was added to yahoo shortly thereafter and Deluxe picked him up off of waivers. At that time, I ruled that Mike Bell belonged to Deluxe, because there was no rule that you could 'claim' players through the forum.

I'm sorry I didn't make this clearer before: The only way you can acquire an unowned player is through the offseason rookie/FA draft or through yahoo's free agent/waiver process. PM'ing me or posting in the forum does not give you the rights to a player, since we do not do add/drop in the forum.

I believe Yahoo's method dealing with newly added players is the fairest... everyone is placed on waivers. That way, each owner has equal chance to bid for these players. And it provides incentive to 'save' high waiver priorities. In this particular case, I'm guessing no1cowboysfan didn't realize that Ricky was added to the database; however, regardless MMoNeY had a higher waiver priority, so he gets the player.

Well, I had a good run. At moments during the season, I was 0-4 and 3-6, yet I still sneaked into the playoffs. My team was finally hitting it's stride, but I got stomped on by n1cf.


I've updated several threads... 2007 Results, 2008 Draft Picks, Cumulative Stats, etc.
I also made a change about tanking in the league rules:
"If there is conclusive evidence that a manager has "tanked" in order to acquire a better draft spot the following season, the manager may be dismissed from the league."

I think there may have been a manager who wasn't putting his best team forward in the last few weeks, in an attempt to gain a better draft pick. In the future, that kind of behavior will not be tolerated.
