Keeper Deadlines

I'm in a dynasty keeper league and disagree with the commissioner that waivers should not be allowed after week 17. In fact, I think they should be allowed through the Superbowl.

Shouldn't waivers be allowed as long as there is NFL football being played? Make an argument why or why not.

Here is my view. The season end with the Fantasy Super Bowl (usually week16), WW should be run up to that time. After the NFL Super Bowl, WW should resume or at a time agreed on by the owners, I like 2-3 weeks.

I definitely think you should be able to use waivers up until the super bowl in a dynasty league as you are keeping your whole team rather than just a few players. Players still get injured and what not in the playoffs, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to adjust your rosters accordingly. My two cents.

I can see both sides of the argument. I would rather see them run through the NFL Superbowl, since there is still a lot of information coming in about players. But on the flipside, it makes some sense for your fantasy league's year to be over once your fantasy superbowl is over, and have all unclaimed players roll into the rookie/free agent draft at that point.

If you want it changed, try to rally a majority of league members that agree with you and put it to a league vote.

I think it all depends on the league. There are arguments on both sides, but it should be established preseason by league vote.

At this point though, I think a league vote should decide what is done.

After all, in FF there is no right and wrong rule, as long as the rules are voted in and everyone plays under the same rules.

I agree with TBM. As long as the rules are voted on then there is no right or wrong answer here. Whatever the league votes to do is the correct answer. ;-D

Make your keeper rules precise and clear, and give owners plenty of time to make selections for their keepers. Then have a week or two to study available free agents, and then build the rest of your team from there!

Exactly, in dynasty leagues, the WW should be utilized until after the "real" superbowl because of injuries.
