Hey, they WERE undefeated...
I actually like Boise State, I think its a great story that these guys from Idaho are putting on such a show in the national spotlight. They have a good team, but come on, its not better than Florida. Or OSU. Or any of the other top teams, for that matter. They beat a good but not great OU team, and if they played Florida or OSU they would probably get smashed.

I thought voters were required to put the winner of the national championship game at #1, so shouldn't Florida have been unanimous?
Voters can put whoever they want as the #1 team.
Remember back in 1997 when Tennesse's coach was so upset with Charles Woodson beating Peyton Manning for the Heisman that he voted Michigan like #6 in the Coaches' Poll, despite the fact that everybody else had Michigan at #1? Because of that Nebraska "technically" has a share.

I think Boise State should be #1 for their undefeated season and more importantly, the dramatic fashion in which they beat Oklahoma. Style points, baby!

Ummm.... Michigan "technically" has a share. MU was the "champ" of the Big Ten/Pac 10 Bowl game. Nebraska was the champion of the rest of college football.
All things considered, I'll take the latter. Especially that year.
