Really? I saw Session 9 on IFC about a year and a half ago and thought it was pretty boring. No thrill, nothing creepy, not even the cheesy scare part with the unexpected loud noise. Part of it had to do with Caruso. He's just as lame an actor as there is. Jacobs Ladder was fantastic, but again, I'm not sure it qualifies as horror.
You didn't think both the inside AND outside of that asylum was creepy?
It's not a traditional hack and slash horror movie and it doesn't have supernatural elements. It's more of a suspense/thriller. The fact that the whole story is plausible is what makes it scary in my opinion. As far as horror movies go, this one's pretty smart.

After high school me and a couple buddies got a place together and my buddies girlfriend came to stay with us. Apparently while we were at work she was looking for a movie to watch. She found this movie in my roomies collection called 'The Fire Down Below', she said she thought it was a firefighter movie, maybe she was thinking of Back Draft or something...I dunno. Well lets just say it wasnt a firefighter movie, my roomie was totally embarrassed but not as embarrassed as his girl was.
