Only in countries where the taxpayers were silly enough to let the government do so... Here in Canada lottery winnings are tax-free (and they are paid in Lump Sum normally at the full advertised amount) and you will only pay tax in the future on capital gains from the investment of the funds... ;-D

As previously mentioned we don't pay taxes on winnings in Canada - I'd give some to charity and then engage in some serious conspicuous consumption to drive the ex-wife crazy! ;-D

I'd buy a new arse cause mine has a hole and a crack in it.
You could think of government workers like teenagers. You pay them an allowance, but do you get any work out them? They eat the food, put their feet on the furniture and complain loudly whenever they are unhappy.
