Is it a holiday today?

Quick stupid question: is today the day he was born? or the day he died?

Born. I believe that he was killed in April of 1968.

It's celebrated on the third Monday in January every year. This year just happened to actually fall on his birthday.

April 4th, I believe. And yeah today IS actually his birthday, but its doesn't always fall on his birthday. (see history teachers can come in handy.)

I was thinking that it's not always celebrated the same day because I remember getting out of school on my birthday (jan 20) because of it.

My wife told me that some guy at her work said...My father and I aren't racist or anything, but we were thinking if somebody killed Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton we'd get the whole week off.

Needless to say, they're investigating it and the dude won't have a job for very long!!!
