The only problem I see with Turner is that he could cost us our 1st and 3rd round draft pick which would leave us with only 2 picks of Day 1 of the draft. Both picks are in the second round. We traded away our 4th round pick for Barlow.
Rumor right now is that McGahee would cost teams a 3rd round pick because he's a free agent after the 2007 season.
Clement is going get a crazy contract since he's the best CB on the market.

I don't know if it's worth it to give away a 3rd rounder though for McGahee since he's a free agent. I think the Jets are still a RB, CB, and a NT away. That RB can be Turner and we will still have enough money to get Clement and we can draft a NT. I know it sounds like a lot, but it could work
The Jets will allow free agents Anthony Clement, their starting right tackle in 2006, and B.J. Askew, a fullback, to hit the free agent market.
New York is digging for a "thumper" at fullback and could explore Ovie Mughelli in free agency or Alabama's Le'Ron McClain in the draft. It's uncertain who'll replace Clement at right tackle. Source: sportingnews.com
Some have speculated Ramsey could land in Cincinnati. Wherever he goes, he'll probably be competing just to make a final 53-man roster.
Expected...too bad they couldn't trade him for a pick but everyone knew he was going to be released.
Eric Barton-LB- Jets Mar. 2 - 9:23 am et
The Jets were shopping LB Eric Barton for a possible trade Thursday.
Barton has been mostly productive in New York, but may not fit the team's 3-4 defense. He's due a $250,000 roster bonus. Source: New York Daily News
I would have been ok with this if we signed Adilius Thomas. I've read they are interested in ex Patriot Tully Banta-Cain but I think he's an OLB and we need MLD in the 3-4.

Sources say the Jets still are exploring the trade market, perhaps for a veteran right tackle. They didn't re-sign Anthony Clement, an unrestricted free agent, leaving a hole at the position. They're also vulnerable at cornerback. Tannenbaum wants to patch as many holes as possible before the draft, creating more flexibility. "That's what we're working towards," he said.
They're also looking to accumulate extra picks by trading veterans. Wide receiver Justin McCareins and linebacker Eric Barton are being shopped, sources said. Contrary to speculation, the Jets don't appear to be dangling linebacker Jonathan Vilma in trade talks.

Wants and Needs: After using two first-round picks to address their offensive line deficiencies last year, the Jets could go in a number of different directions this year with the No. 25 overall pick. They will probably be in the market for a right offensive tackle at some point in the draft, but they have more pressing needs at tight end, defensive tackle, linebacker, and cornerback. The Jets filled a big hole by acquiring running back Thomas Jones from the Bears. By doing so, they had to give up the No. 37 overall pick, yet received the No. 63 pick as part of the deal. Don't be surprised if the Jets continue to wheel and deal on draft day. There are rumblings that general manager Mike Tannenbaum doesn't believe linebacker Jonathan Vilma or defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson are good fits in the 4-3 defensive scheme. Meanwhile, the Jets would love to find a taker for wide receiver Justin McCareins, who is scheduled to earn $3 million this season. Tannenbaum disputed trade rumors on Thursday, but he stopped short of saying that any player is untouchable.
Potential Selections: The general consensus seems to be that the Jets have their hearts set on taking Miami-FLA tight end Greg Olsen. The Patriots lost Daniel Graham in free agency and it might heat up the feud if Bill Belichick were to select Olsen one pick ahead of the Jets, but New England has bigger needs to worry about. The Jets hold two late second-round picks and could potentially use them to move up if there is a particular player they covet. That could come into effect if they have a preference regarding the various cornerbacks who are expected to be available in the second-half of the first round. Darrelle Revis, Aaron Ross, and Chris Houston might fall outside the first 20 picks. If the Jets selected one of those defensive backs, they could conceivably target tight end Zach Miller in the second around, although they would probably have to trade up to get him.
New York's Picks: Round One: 25th overall Round Two: 59th overall, 63rd overall (from Bears) Round Three: 89th overall Round Four: No pick (traded to 49ers) Round Five: 164th overall Round Six: 177th overall (from Buccaneers) Round Seven: No pick (traded to Packers)
