Days before the Patriots' AFC Championship game, several key players including Troy Brown and Tedy Bruschi have come down with the flu. Say goodbye to your season Pats fans.

Where do you hear about Bruschi?

Apparently Brown is back and the other people with the flu are not allowed into team meetings.

And I think football players are tough enough to overcome the flu and play Sunday.

Nice try though.

For many athletes, things like being sick or slightly injured actually make them play better than they would normally because the level of concentration is higher since they know that they are at a disadvantage being sick/injured. You've seen this with guys like Michael Jordan where they will be sick and have some of the best games of their career.

I remember Dwayne Wade in the playoff game last year (I think it was a playoff game) had the flue, and had something like 13 for 15 from the field and like 11/11 from the line with like 30 points or something crazy with 10 assists.
A win next week and all is forgotten.
