Matt, I'm really not trying to build a case for me liking or not liking great D. Let's not make anything of it.

Here's my original comment:

"Could be another 15-6 game...
Hope not, that was snooze inducing."

No mention of D anywhere.
We could start another thread about that, I suppose...

I saw this more as an inept Baltimore offense being unable to do anything against a suspect Indy D, and was disappointed in Indy's great offense unable to do much against a great Baltimore D. The Colts for me are offense personified, in this game they weren't, and Baltimore played well. It never seemed to me like the outcome of this game was in much doubt, as it did to others, and that contributes to me not finding it incredibly exciting.
The Baltimore offense was going nowhere most of the day.

I love Ed Reed, may be the best open field tackler in the league.
Lewis at the top of his game is Spiderman in disguise.

Again, FOR ME, this was not an overly exciting game, I'm talking about ONE GAME, period. I can't be more clear than that.

I truly am glad some of you guys enjoyed it more than I, and there's not a hint of sarcasm in that statement.

one thing that is annoying me is people that think how they've played so far means something...

rich gannon dominated the regular season and was awesome in the playoffs and had a HORRIBLE superbowl a few years back... who cares if Rex has been good in the playoffs so far... Rex is Rex... Peyton is Peyton...

I'm not saying that this will determine the outcome... but the past 3 games mean virtually nothing... it's all about this one game... a game traditionally won by QBs... take that as you will...

I disagree, I think the last 3 games mean a lot. The last 3 games were the biggest three these teams played in the whole year, not to mention it's the last three games that are still on these players minds. How you have been playing in the playoffs usually has a lot to do with how you will do in the big game. While I would agree that no player is doomed to a destiny based on how they played in the playoffs, if you've ever played sports you'd know that how you've been playing lately has a big impact on your psyche. My two cents anyway.
