Coincidentally, last week, I purchased a new 42" Sony LCD. But it wasn't for the SuperBowl. I was getting it anyway. ;-D

this is usually the best time of the yr to get a big screen at a cheap price. i bought my in the summer time which is probably not the best time to buy one.

A friend of mine is for a poker tourney which Ill be going to if that counts. I'm tempted to want a new TV, but anything that would be worth buying as for as improvement over the current tv would be way too expensive.

Since this post is here I may as well ask around... I have a 55" HDTV in my living room but my wife has talked me into building a movie theater room... What is the best kind of HD/LCD/DLP projector or whatever... I don't know much about projectors... I'll do some research myself but thought I'd ask to see if anyone has any first hand knowledge on the subject... Prices are always fairly good around this time of year so I thought I would get it now instead of waiting for next January or paying way more in a few months... Thanks in advance...

I've had my Sony 52" HD TV for over a year now and love it, it's a whole different experience watching football on it. ;-D
