Commercials: The average cost for a 30 second commercial during the 19th Superbowl was $500000 and marked the first time that a one minute TV commercial cost $1 million. Ford presented a series of commercials that year to introduce their latest Ford Thunderbird model. Budweiser of course had their usual comedic beer commercials.

My source says 86.

Yours says 85 was the first year that a commercial REACHED $1M. However, the question was what year was $1M TOPPED?
