No it's not because of Rex the wonder dog, though he proved he is the worst QB ever to play in a SB. The Bears lost because their coaching staff was absolutely arogant. As I watched the Colts in the playoffs the thing that became obvious was that they were not throwing deep, in fact they had converted to a running team. So why were the Bears playing pass D all game? Why was #54 playing pass coverage all game despite playoff film clearly showing the Colts use of Addai and Rhodes?
I think this was a terrible over-sight by the Bears and caused them to lose the game.
Nobody could fault a team for losing to Manning, Harrison & Wayne, but to lose to Rhodes and Addai? And you're the Bears D? Oh, and did anyone notice the rain? Make a team one dimensional and have Peyton try and beat you in the rain and I'll take my chances. But let Addai & Rhodes chew you up?!?!
I guess maybe this is what happens when you have so little competition throughout the season: your coaching becomes as dimwitted and stubborn that not only do you not replace the worst QB ever to play in a SB, but you make no D adjustments. Awful job Lovey.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?

Ever since the Bears lost Tommy Harris their run defense has not been the same. They couldn't make stop all day on third down and the Bears offense couldn't stay on the field long enough to give them a breather.
Yeah, losing Tommie Harris really hurt the Bears run d. Plus the fact that they were on the field almost the whole game didn't help either. I actually thought they should give Grossman the MVP for helping the colts so much. If I were a Bears fan right now, I'd be blaming Rex.

They lost because the Colts are better. WAAAAAAY better.
14 Teams, each keep 14 players QB: P. Manning, Schaub RB: MJD, Westy, C. Johnson, A. Bradshaw, J. Ringer WR: TO, Driver, J. Gage, Crabtree, J. Morgan, K. Curtis, E. Bennett, M. Sims-Walker TE: Witten, M. Lewis K: Gostkowski, J. Brown D/ST: Tenn, NE
Lets face it, the Colts were a much better team, with a better game plan. They beat 3 of the best defenses in the league, by keeping their offense on the field. Gotta be impressed with that. Ironic since everyone has always said that the way to beat the Colts is to keep their offense off the field. Guess Tony was listening this time.
What I am most disappointed in Lovey Smith for is the last 1 1/2 minutes of that game, when the Bears offense gave up. I know there wasn't much chance for them to win at that point, they would have needed a TD, an onside kick to go their way, and another TD... but the point is there was a chance. You owe it to your fans to try as hard as you can until there's no time left on the clock. If I were a Bears fan, I'd have felt like my team slapped me in the face at that point.
I don't know if it was all Rex to blame but I do blame 80% of the Bears loss on their offense. Their defense held the Colts to 22 points. (7 on that INT reception for the Colts made it 29)
That's not a bad day vs the Colts offense in my book.
The key times when the Bears got the ball back and really needed to do something on offense to at least give their defense a rest, they would go 3 and out. It was insane and rather sad how bad their offense looked 3/4 of the game. Sure they had a couple of nice plays. (All the momentum early especially with that 52yd run by Jones and TD pass to Moose.)
But overall in dire times the offense just couldn't get it done.
