I scanned around and didn't see anything on this. Since it's the offseason I figure I will put it in Leftovers. If this belongs in the player updates feel free to move it.

Lions sources have said that they expect Kevin Jones will miss at least half of the 2007 NFL season as he recovers from surgery on his left foot in December, according to NFL.com. The team is expected to pursue a running back in the offseason to help carry the load until Jones can return to health.
With the 2nd pick I think this will change their strategy some. Maybe they trade down a couple picks and grab Peterson?

Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if they thought a lot harder about getting Peterson now. It's really kind of a bummer considering the initial prognosis had him playing in the first game of the season
That news could change the complexion of the entire draft, although the Lions had to expect this may happen. I still they'll lean towards Thomas or a QB, but it becomes possible they may take a look at AP.
I'm not too concerned, seeing how early it is. This time last year Carson Palmer was slated to miss a good chunk of the year, so who knows, but if its really this bad, RB becomes an awfully tempting choice for Detroit.
I keep hearing that Detriot wants to move down, so if they want to grab a back, they could probably drop down several spots and still grab Lynch, plus pick up an extra pick or two.
