PFT.com Mock Draft

Postby jake_twothousandfive » Mon Feb 12, 2007 12:15 am

ProFootballTalk.com decided to try and do a mock draft of their own. It's the worst one I've seen so far this year. They completely forgot Jarrett, unless they expect him to fall out of the first round and they have the Vikings going with Quinn even though Childress has said time and time again that he is happy with his quarterbacks.

14. Carolina Panthers: Robert Meacham, wide receiver, Tennessee.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Levi Brown, offensive tackle, Penn State.
16. Green Bay Packers: DeMarcus Tyler, defensive tackle, North Carolina State.

That is pretty bad. 6 WR and a TE off the board in the 1st round before Jarrett? I'd like to see their reasoning behind that.

Ugh, this is ugly %-6

There's no way San Fran takes Okoye before Hall or Jarrett.

I mean what the hell are Gonzalez and Davis doing in the 1st round anyways?? :-?

This mock was so bad I almost cried. Vikings going QB, Dolphins and Bills going WR, Eagles going TE, no Jarrett, an untrained chimp blindfolded and throwing darts on a draft board could've done a better job.

Looks like the omission of Jarrett was intentional.

WHERE'S DWAYNE?

Our initial 2007 mock draft already has attracted plenty of attention -- and has resulted in a flood of e-mails to PFT headquarters.

"Where is USC receiver Dwayne Jarrett?" is the question posed by hundreds (okay dozens . . . okay one dozen) members of PFT Planet.

Given that we have six receivers listed in our first crack at the first round, most have presumed that we merely overlooked Jarrett.

Though we've been guilty of such stoopidity in the past, this time around the omission was intentional. Why? Because the network of scouts and league insiders with whom we collaborated in preparing the first crack at the first round believe that Jarrett will run a 4.6 or slower in his Pro Day workout, which will cause him to fall out of the first round.

Obviously, if/when Jarrett's runs faster than 4.6, we'll reassess our position. For now, though, we think that Dwayne Jarrett will be this year's version of former Trojan teammate LenDale White.

This seems pretty rediculous to me. Jarrett will run faster then 4.6 and even if he doesn't he still has the talent to be a top 20 pick. Barring some major injury or horrible performances in all aspects of the combine, there is no way he falls out of the first round IMO.

Yeah I agree, this one looked pretty bad. I don't see Jarrett falling out completely of the first round at all.

Wow... like they made a lottery system and pulled players out of a bag. If Cowboys pick a WR in the first round... I will be shocked. I mean they could use some depth there but CB/Safety is more important... unless CJ drops to 26. lol Yea right. }:-)

I actually think that's what they did.

Craig Davis top 20?

Eric Wright above Darrell Revis?

Eagles drafting a TE?

PFT Mock Draft

The bolded ones are ones that I have issues with, after a quick look-through. Staley is a freak (300lbs, 4.75 dash) and may very well make his way into the 1st round, but it's not safe to say right now.

But do the Colts even need an offensive lineman? That was my main problem with that pick.
