Questions about NFL Tickets

This past season I finally bit the bullet and got tickets for a Bears game. Problem was, I got online the morning they went on sale back in July, and the entire season was already sold out, for anything even halfway decent anyway. I'm sure most of you aren't surprised, but it never occurred to me there would be thousands of people with thousands of credit cards, setting their alarms for 6 a.m. to get EVERY SINGLE TICKET!! I still got them from Stubhub or whatever, but paid almost twice face value .

So anyway, my question is this: what do I need to do to get tickets for face value next year? Is it enough to get online the very second they go on sale, or is that even too slow for people's hack programs or bots or whatever? I'm willing to get up early, but not if it's just pointless. The Bears restrict ticket sales to 2 per credit card number, but obviously people get around that.

Root for somebody besides the Bears. Thats how you get tickets the day before the game.

Its the same in TB. Almost all the tickets all sold to season ticket holders and the little bit that are left go in the first half hour.

Good thing for me, TB fans are bandwagoners so i think more tickets will be availble this year

Most teams tickets are season ticket holders. I am guessing this is the case with the Bears. They have a few per game that go on sale to the public, I think it is less than 5,000 for the Lions. I would say it is pretty similar for other teams. With that few tickets on sale they would go pretty fast.

You could always drive to Detroit and I'll give you mine for face value

Start making friends with someone who has season tickets. When they look to sell tickets to one of their games then hopefully they come to you and charge you face value.

It sucked for my friend last year b/c he got on the TB list for season tickets since it was so long thinking by the time he got out of school and had a job he would come up. Well i guess TB doens't do an exact list, the sooner you sign up the better your chances, but it still random, like the NBA lottery. His came up and he didnt have the money so he had to turn them down and then resign up

That stinks. I know for the Jets you have to pay $50 a year to be on the list and the list could easily take 10 or more years. I was forunate to have a friend who owned 20 tickets and sold my parents 6 of them every year.

it's almost impossible to get face value for tickets of most NFL teams. Im a season ticket holder for the Eagles, and you can't get tickets for Eagles game at face value anywhere. The waiting list for season tickets has to be pushing one hundred thousand
