2000 Plaxico Burress WR NY Giants
1999 Troy Edwards WR Out of football??
1997 Chad Scott CB Maryland NE Patriots
1996 Jamain Stephens OT Out of football??
The Steelers took Chad Scott, a defensive back out of Maryland, in the first round in 1997. He is now a member of the New England Patriots.
Then the Steelers took Troy Edwards, a wide receiver out of Louisiana Tech, in the first round in 1999. He is now a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
And to make it two first round receivers in a row, the Steelers took Plaxico Burress out of Michigan State in 2000. He is now the top receiver for the New York Giants.
Alan Faneca (1998), Casey Hampton (2001), Kendall Simmons (2002), Troy Polamalu (2003), Ben Roethlisberger (2004), Heath Miller (2005), and Santonio Holmes (2006) are still members of the team, and 6 out of 7 will most likely be starting next year. Kendall Simmons may be replaced at right guard but also has a chance to move to center.
