There is a ton of money being thrown around im glad were not getting involved with these crazy deals right now. Hopefully we can stay away from these awful signings.

Yup, good point. If anything, this could result in a lot of June 1st cuts - perhaps we can pick up some good players at good value.

I would have liked to see us go for thomas, or try to make a move for willis.. but I guess we'll see what happens.

Thomas's deal was 18 million signing bonus and 7.5 mil a season thats a huge deal im glad we stayed out of that. He is solid but he is not one of the top dfensive players in the league. Willis is a solid back but I cant see TT trading draft picks for him. TT should stay out of these big deals and come in when all the smoke clears and pick up late season cuts that will fill our holes.

yeah, as much as I would like to have seen thomas in the green and gold, i think we have more pressing needs, and that money could be better spent elsewhere, such as at safety and RB, and I would still love to see the packers try to trade for david carr.

Does ANYONE have any hope for Rodgers? :-b

IMO, we can't get rid of that guy quick enough. He'll be lucky to develop into a career backup. We need someone with a real future.

I also like Carr. A year or two sitting behind Favre forgetting what it's like to be sacked every other play. He's got a lot of mental hurdles to overcome and I think some time on the bench behind Favre would set him back on the right path.

Rodgers hasn't shown anything yet either way... he looked pretty good in preseason, and looked lost in the Pats game. That's all we've seen. David Carr has problems of his own. It's not all on the O-line in Houston. Plus he'd cost some picks. Guys I'm looking at in the second phase of Free Agency (the phase in which we signed our guys last year)

Joey Porter (does he fit the scheme?)
Antonio Bryant
Travis Henry
Justin Griffith
Lavar Arrington

We dont need porter, Henry is going to command huge money, Griffith is a fullback, and Arrington we tried to sign last yr and the book is out on him with his injuries. Bryant is the only player I can see as being a option but I think there is so much baggage on him that TT wont take the chance. We might have to wait till June 1st before the pack make a big signing.
