Wouldn't the Packers be better served trying to trade up in the draft above the Texans and getting Adrian Peterson if he's there?
Dealing the #16 pick and maybe a package of picks and players to the Vikings seems a better option to me.
The possibility exists now with Cleveland picking up Lewis that they don't go RB at #3 and Peterson could slip all the way to #8, where Houston would grab him. Rumors persist the Browns just might go with Brady Quinn at #3. That kills any chance the Texans had of going with a QB at #8.
If the Packers could get the #7 pick and grab Peterson, that would be far better than trading to get Betts.
Say, the #16 pick, a 3rd rounder this year and a 3rd rounder in '08 for the Vikes' pick, #7?

That might apply if Green Bay and Washington were in the same division....
I think he's talking about Hank's idea of trading with the Vikings...
14 Teams, each keep 14 players QB: P. Manning, Schaub RB: MJD, Westy, C. Johnson, A. Bradshaw, J. Ringer WR: TO, Driver, J. Gage, Crabtree, J. Morgan, K. Curtis, E. Bennett, M. Sims-Walker TE: Witten, M. Lewis K: Gostkowski, J. Brown D/ST: Tenn, NE
You're telling me Betts is better than Lynch is (or is going to be)? If you were going to trade for a quality starter, you missed your opportunity with McGahee. Betts would not be a full time starter with Morency still here. This deal smells IMO, unless we get him for a steal.

It's possible....I don't think it's out of the question to believe he could be better than Lynch. There are a lot of talented backs that are unable to make the leap into the NFL game and Betts showed he was capable last year of being a pretty darn good back.
If they could get Betts for a 3rd rounder, I think its a good deal for the Pack. They need a RB, and instead of spending a 1st rounder on Lynch or such, they can use that pick to address the defense.

Unless they were trading the 1st rounder for Betts, it's not really as simple as Betts vs. Lynch.
