Rumors out of Tampa Bay

Postby deerayfan072 » Thu Mar 08, 2007 10:54 am

The whispers around the Bucs are that we got Plummer for a reasona dn it was not to compete. We are looking to trade him to Oak. Den was not about to deal with Oak so we jumped in and stole him. The to trades we are looking at are :

Plummer and some picks to move up to 1. Oak gets a Vet QB and can still get JaMarcus Russel.

Plummer and Picks for Randy Moss. Gruden wants more offensive firepower and Moss wants out.

The other thing is that even if we don't make these deals we took bith QB;s off the market and made sure that OAK will draft a QB 1 and hopefully this makes it so we can get either CJ or JT

Neither Scenario seems likely to me. First of all, why trade for Plummer if you plan of drafting Russell? If they get Plummer, they would almost certainly want to draft CJ, and that trade would defeat that purpose.

I feel like the second set up has problems too, because it would eliminate the player you really want from the draft, as he would probably be drafted by Oakland....

Not sure about all this.

I heard on the Dan Patrick show yesterday, that Plummer is thinking about joining the Peace Corps. :-S
The cake is a lie.

The Thinking behind the first set, is that Plummer would be a guy that Russel can learn behind while Plummer keeps the team a float

Like i said these are what the Bucs front office is mulling over. The main thing was to make sure that OAK is forced to take a QB 1 so that JT or CJ are there for us

The problem with these scenarios is that Plummer would have to want to play for Oakland.

If he doesn't want to play for TB, why would be even remotely interested in playing for the mess that is the oakland raiders. Unless they manage to trade him to Houston, I wouldn't expect to see Plummer in uniform for the 2007 season.

He wants to start. The Bucs told him he wasn't guaranteed to start thats why he didn't want to play for the Bucs. Also, playing for Oak gives him a chance to stick it to Den. (try anyway :-b )

Everything I read said he wanted to go to Houston with Kubiak, not Oak

Can TB even afford Moss' salary? I thought they were hurting a bit with their cap

Not anymore, we are in the middle of the pack as far as salary goes now. We got rid of a lot of expiring contracts off our cap finally.
