Eagles Re-Sign James

The Eagles and free agent cornerback William James agreed to terms on a one-year deal on Friday, the team's official web site reported.

Our View
The man formerly known as Will Peterson has played only five games the past two seasons due to back issues. However, the Eagles are expected to lose nickel corner Rod Hood this offseason, and James will likely step up into that role.

I'll still hoping we re-sign Hood. James is a non-factor unless Lito Sheppard gets injured if that's the case, and I'd rather he stay as just a depth spot on the roster.

I'm fine with the way this has progressed actually. I want stallworth, but if we let hood and stallworth walk, we still resigned juquas, and frankly, if they get curtis and dillon instead of stallworth, I'd be happy with that too.

I think hood's impression of himself is more than the birds are willing to pay.

it's really not a big signing but as you stated it probably signals the end of Rod Hood. I read a report that the Birds offered him a contract that would have made him the highest paid Nickel in the league and he turned it down.
