Jets re-sign OT Clement

HEMPSTEAD, New York (Ticker) - The New York Jets on Monday re-signed offensive tackle Anthony Clement, who played all 16 games last season.

Terms were not disclosed. The 6-8, 320-pound Clement is entering his 10th NFL season and second with the Jets.

Clement, 30, first was signed by the Jets on April 19, 2006 and split time with Adrian Jones at right tackle last season. He was a 1998 second-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals and spent seven seasons with them before playing for San Francisco in 2005.

We needed a RT.

Wow... When I saw Clement, I was like they got Nate Clement!?!?!?!? But than I forgot that the 49ers signed him already.. lol

Not too happy about this, I don't think Clement is starter material. RT and LG are the two spots on our OL that are not set right now..

Nothing really available in free agency to upgrade at RT. We still could address the position in the draft. I doubt they would go O-line again in the first round but J.Staley out of Central Michigan could still be available at #26. There are some pretty good guards also that could be available in the second round for us.
