Hitler to lose his citizenship???

The local council voted late Monday to formally strip the Nazi dictator's name from the roll of honorary citizens even though it felt the honor had lapsed when Hitler, a regular summer guest, killed himself.

That cracked me up. :-b

I wonder if Time magazine will strip his 1938 Man of the Year title from him.

Wow, I'm so glad Germany was smart enough to do this! By quickly disassociating Hitler from Germany, they should be able to keep the damage he created to a minimum. I'm so glad they acted speedily... :-b

In all seriousness thats just plain stupid.

I don't think that they are attempting to erase the connection between Hitler and Germany from the history books, as this would be impossible.

Instead, it is my belief that they are doing this so that they can officially move on. Yes, it has been 60 years, but by doing this they are officially showing the world that they have no patriotic respect for Hitler, and that they completely disagree with the radical views that he held.

In my opinion, they shouldn't do this. Hitler was a terrible man, but he was a huge part of Germany's history, and he should be recognized for his input in the shaping of Germany. He should also be recognized for increasing Germany's reputation as being a powerful country, a reputation that to a degree still stands today.
