Michael Bush to have Surgery on Leg

Postby deerayfan072 » Thu Mar 22, 2007 9:07 am

Former Louisville running back Michael Bush had a new rod inserted into his broken leg Tuesday.

Bush had planned to run at the Cardinals' March 26 Pro Day but is now expected to be sidelined another "few months," according to the AP. There were hints that Bush wasn't healing correctly, as he was limping on the sidelines of Louisville's Orange Bowl win over Wake Forest and skipped all of the Combine drills. Bush is now less likely to make an impact in his rookie season and might begin it on the PUP list. He also could fall out of the first day of the draft. Mar. 21 - 12:44 am et

Man, he should have taken the medical red-shirt and came back for one more year of college ball

yeah I saw that yesterday. That is going to kill his draft status. Most likely drops him to the second day of the draft.

This may make it easier for the Falcons to grab him later in the draft, so he can reunite w/ his coach.

Man, that's rough. I feel bad for the kid. He was really impressive in college. Hopefully he can come back from this and outperform what will most likely be a modest rookie contract. I think whatever team picks him up (Atlanta is a pretty good guess) could get a steal.

Yeah for sure can see ATL taking a shot on this guy, and when Dunn is gone and Bush has time to get back to 100% then he and Norwood would be a nice 1-2

If he falls late, he could be a steal for some team. If he's back to fully healthy that is.

Don't they have more pressing needs than RB?

M.Bush has been a guy that continues to slide down the draft. He will be a good player when he finally gets healthy. Some team will be happy to grab him late in the year, stash in on the bench, and watch him grow in a year or two as a starting RB...
