I like this approach of building through the draft, and letting guys go when they are too expensive to keep. If they draft well in the next year or two and can get a decent RB (e.g. Lynch) they should be primed with Evans and Losman to make a real attempt at at a Superbowl, not just the playoffs.
Maybe its just me, but Losman and Evans as the core doesnt exactly scream Superbowl. I guess Schobel is a nice player. But you have to think that defense takes a huge step back without Fletcher, Spikes, and Clements. Do they really have a better core right now than most teams in the CFL?
If you make that one small change, then yes, they do.

The report i heard was that the deal was pretty much done, it is ESPN so who knows.
Beano-- I agree the Bills are destroying that team. They were on the verge of the playoffs and they now lose there best player of O and a big part of their D, not good. Maybe Marv is doing it so Juaron loses and he can hire himself as coach

The Eagles are reportedly the favorites to land Takeo Spikes.
Interesting fit. Philly could use an outside linebacker and they did a nice job rehabbing Jeremiah Trotter's career a few years ago. The Giants have also showed interest. Source: ESPN.com Insider
maybe there is something they know that I don't. (Well, I say that ongue in cheeck, because i'm not an NFL exec)
This sounds defeatist, but I'm fine with the Eagles not going balls to the wall this off-season. I really fail to see how they would be able to beat the Chargers, Pats etc. in the Super Bowl, should they make it anyway. And next year, the Eagles have tons of space, since they were wise enough to take the hit from all their contract extensions and re-signs now.
Although, if they took spike's drafted someone and let gocong develop, this might not be so bad.

If this turns ot to be true, do we go Safety first round?
10 Team, H2H, PPR Lineup: E. Manning - T. Romo W. Welker - R. Cobb - H. Nicks M. Forte - D. Sproles - CJ Spiller - S. Ridley J. Finley - K. Rudolph M. Bryant Arizona - Green Bay
would almost have to I would think. Safety or corner. I'd like to see safety though, Dawkins ain't getting younger.
Leonard in the second would be sweet too. I don't really care if they go all D and Leonard. Or even all D. I think people are selling curtis short. I like brown, curtis, baskett myself. 21 of 22 starters (or something like that) are now signed, and the hit is this year. This team could be set if we can address this defense.
